NORTHBROOK, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A 92-year-old woman accidentally drove her car into a pool Saturday afternoon in north suburban Northbrook, authorities said.
The woman's car plunged into the pool after it drove over a curb and through a fence in the 1200 block of Rudolph Drive in Northbrook about 12:30 p.m., according to a statement from Northbrook Fire Department District Chief Daniel Quinn.
Two Northbrook police officers jumped into the pool, which only had three feet of water in it, and helped get the woman out of her car, Quinn said, adding that the woman was not injured.
The car landed upright in the pool and was later removed by the fire department, Quinn said.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation as of Saturday night.
