ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Orlando Police Officer Roderick Johnson is out on bond after he was charged with allegedly having sex with a suspect he arrested a few weeks ago.
Police Chief Paul Rooney said the department opened an investigation after the woman filed a complaint. She told detectives Johnson arrested her, took her to an undisclosed location, had sex with her and then dropped her off at the jail.
"Because of that allegation -- it's such a serious allegation -- he was relieved of his police duties," Rooney said.
Johnson did not admit he did anything wrong.
He has been in trouble before. He was arrested and was given one year of probation after he allegedly slapped a juvenile. Johnson also got in trouble for damaging police equipment.
Johnson has been suspended with pay pending an internal investigation.
