Orlando man sentenced for sex trafficking of 13 year old
TAMPA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A federal judge sentenced an Orlando man to 21 years in prison for the sex trafficking of a 13-year-old girl.
Miguel Morancy, 30, pleaded guilty in July and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich last week in Tampa.
According to court documents, Morancy was a "pimp" operating in the central Florida area and had numerous prostitutes working for him from 2007 until 2010. Several of the prostitutes were identified as juveniles. Subsequent investigation revealed that, from November 2007 until February of 2008, Morancy employed a thirteen-year-old eighth grader as a prostitute.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys James A. Muench and Stacie B.
