The driver of a scooter was killed early this morning when a vehicle struck him and drove off, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Aaron Dale Jones, 28, of Orlando died at Orlando Regional Medical Center at about 4:25 a.m., about three hours after he was struck on Goldenrod Road at Valencia College Lane, troopers said.
Jones was southbound on Goldenrod and was turning left onto Valencia College Lane when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Goldenrod. That vehicle fled the scene.
The crash is under investigation and charges are pending.
