LONGWOOD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is looking for two suspects whom they say burglarized a Longwood home and attacked the family's dog, likely with a golf club, leaving her covered in welts.
On Nov. 30, the suspects broke into a home on the 300 block of Beach Avenue and stole electronics, deputies said. The rear patio glass door had been smashed and the house ransacked.
After the residents returned home and saw their home in disarray, they realized their 3-year-old pit bull rescue dog, Lilly, was missing.
The homeowners' surveillance cameras captured some of the incident. The video showed the suspects taunting Lilly and throwing a large object at her. A Sheriff's Office spokesperson said a golf club was covered in dog hair.
The dog likely ran out the broken glass door. She returned the next morning, scared and covered in welts. Lilly was treated by a local veterinarian and is expected to make a full recovery, the Sheriff's Office said.
Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS or the Sheriff's Office at 407-665-6650.
