The Doe Fund has called it quits on East 86th Street Business District. The program that puts the homeless and ex-cons to work cleaning city streets says that City Hall asked them to focus on cleaning up areas hit by Superstorm Sandy.

That's not the only reason. The president of the Doe Fund says while the group has kept the commercial district clean for 15 years it can no longer afford to do so, DNAinfo.com reported.

Reporter Julie Shapiro discusses the story.
