Good Samaritans Injured Trying to Help

Palm Bay, FL - Good Samaritans trying to help an unconscious man stopped at a traffic light and are hit by another car.

Palm Bay Police tell FOX 35 two good Samaritans witnessed a driver unconscious at the intersection of Palm Bay Road and Minton Road just after 1 a.m. Saturday morning. Both individuals tried to wake up the driver and immediately called police.

Police and Firefighters arrived on scene and attempted to revive the man. That's when detectives say Brian Washington drove his car into the intersection hitting the individuals who were attempting to rescue this driver. A firefighter and good Samaritan were both taken to Palm Bay Community Hospital where they were treated and released early Saturday morning.

Palm Bay Police arrested 45 Year-old Brian Washington. He is being held in the Brevard County Jail on 2 counts of DUI With Serious Bodily Injury and 1 count of Reckless Driving. He is scheduled to appear before a judge Sunday morning.

Police also arrested the driver who the good Samaritans and EMT workers were trying to help. He is also facing DUI Charges.
