Early morning shooting claims life of Lakeland man

LAKELAND (FOX 13) -

Two men were shot early Sunday morning while returning home from a night in Ybor City.

Sean Anthony Williamson, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second unidentified man drove himself to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery.

The 29-year-old man's condition is not known. Investigators say he and Williamson worked together.

According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office report Williamson and a friend was pulling up to the deceased's residence on Swiss Dr. just after 4 a.m. when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up next to them.

The report states two men got out of the vehicle and fired several shots at both men. Deputies were dispatched to the scene after several shots fired calls came into the Polk SO Communication Center.

When they arrived they found Williamson lying in the roadway at the intersection of Swiss and Ponderosa drives.
