SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Three people were taken to the hospital Monday evening after a collision near Hayden and Roosevelt in Scottsdale.

A silver Honda Accord was turning left from northbound Hayden onto westbound Roosevelt when it was T-boned by a red Buick headed south on Hayden, said Scottsdale Office David Pubins.

There were 7 people inside the Accord -- a 37-year-old female and 6 juveniles, ranging in age from 4 years old to the 16-year-old driver.

Two juveniles and the woman were injured and taken to area hospitals. The woman, who is pregnant, suffered the most serious injuries. She was extricated from the vehicle.

The woman is the mother of the 16-year-old driver, and she was sitting in the passenger seat. She underwent emergency surgery Monday night.

The juveniles' injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Two of the juvenile passengers are friends of the family, and the rest are children of the pregnant woman.

Officer Pubins says that everyone was wearing a seatbelt, although four of the juveniles in the back seat appear to have been sharing two seatbelts.

Police say alcohol may be a factor in the Buick driver. He was not hurt.

The roadway was closed for five hours while the investigation took place.

The 37-year-old female delivered her baby with minor complications.  At this time, she is recovering.
