A valley family who was preparing for a big move had the rug pulled out from under them when someone stole the U-Haul van parked right in front of their home.
However, an alert FOX 10 viewer spotted the van and called police. Now, the family is grateful to have some of their belongings home.
Moving day came a day later for the Presmyks. After what they went through Monday, they're just glad it came at all.
"It was a long day but it turned out alright so we're definitely happy," says dad Kevin Presmyk.
Their packed up U-Haul was stolen out of their driveway. A FOX 10 viewer watching our newscast noticed the license plate matched a U-Haul truck parked across the street from them, and called the police.
The Presmyks were up all night going through their belongings, to see what was missing.
"We were scared to go to sleep in case it got stolen again! Did get a lot of stuff back, about half of our Christmas presents back," says mom Jenni Presmyk.
7-year-old Madison is relieved. She was worried her presents were stolen.
The family is settling into their dream home, despite a rough 24 hours.
"I would definitely say it's a Christmas miracle. Definitely believe in the power or prayer and positive thinking."
Police were able to get some partial prints off that U-Haul truck, but no one has been arrested yet. Meanwhile, the Presmyks are thanking that FOX 10 viewer.
