A Riverview man was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he battered his girlfriend and slammed her dog against a driveway.
Dorrell Maxwell Webb, 39, faces battery, stalking and animal cruelty charges for the incident Nov. 5.
Deputies say he and his girlfriend, Lorisa Bass, got into an argument, and Bass would not let her leave.
According to the sheriff's office, Webb broke the keys to her car in the ignition, messed with her engine, chased her through her home, cut phone cords so she couldn't call for help and then abused her dog.
Webb grabbed her dog and slammed it against the driveway, fracturing its legs in two areas. Eventually, Bass was able to call 911, and Webb left the scene.
Webb was arrested at his apartment complex at 112th Avenue and 22nd Street without incident, deputies said.
