FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Flagler County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday arrested a 20-year-old Palm Coast man after he posted threats against Matanzas High School students on his Facebook page.
William Hofer has been charged with issuing written threats to kill or do bodily harm and has been booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility. He was arrested outside a house on John Anderson Highway in Flagler Beach around 3:22 p.m.
As a result of the threats, three Flagler County school campuses had heightened security throughout the school day. The schools were Matanzas High School, Flagler Palm Coast High School and Daytona State College.
Hofer, a former DSC student, is a 2011 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. In his posting, Hofer said he recently lost a "brother." Detectives determined that Hofer was referring to an acquaintance who was killed within the last week in a home invasion in Putnam County.
