Alderman wants to make feeding pigeons a crime

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Feeding Chicago's pigeons could be a hobby for some but one Chicago alderman wants it a thing of the past in Uptown.

Ald. James Cappleman, 46th Ward, proposed an ordinance Wednesday to make it a crime on public property.

You could face up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines if the proposal becomes reality.

Cappleman says pigeon excrement is about one-fourth of an inch thick at the Wilson and Lawrence "L" stations. He says the CTA cleans it up and it's back to the way it was a week later.
