ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
An Orange County man was arrested on Tuesday, accused of locking up his-90-year-old mother inside their home and threatening to kill her.
John Ramsey, 50, of Orlando, was charged with false imprisonment and neglect of an elderly adult after deputies found the woman living in the house filled with garbage and animal waste.
According to reports, Ramsey and his mother had an argument and he locked her in a bathroom. He allegedly tied the door shut and would not let her out, then threatened to kill her, the family and them himself.
When deputies arrived at the home, they saw that the house was full of trash and chickens were running around the yard. The elderly woman was living in filth.
Deputies placed Ramsey under arrest. The Florida department of children and families came out to investigate but said the woman was fully aware of the conditions she was living in and did not want any help.
