MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A Marion County woman stepped outside of her home around 6 p.m. on Tuesday to discovery her driveway had been stolen.
She doesn't want to be identified, out of fear of retaliation, but this Reddick woman said she wants to know who stole the pavers from her driveway and why.
"I came home and part of my driveway was gone," she told us.
It's a high-traffic area on NW 120th Street in Reddick, which is why she's so surprised thieves would be so bold.
It turns out, one of her neighbors actually saw two men stealing the pavers. She said she didn't think anything of it, because the family has had construction crews out to build a barn and clean up the property. She said she saw the two men loading blocks earlier in the day.
The stolen brick pavers cost about $300 dollars to replace. The victim said it's not the money that bothers her the most, but the fear of knowing these criminals are still out there.
"I think I was in shock for quite awhile afterwards. It's not something you expect to come home and find."
Marion County sheriff's deputies said they haven't had any other types of crimes reported in this area.
