A motorist was killed early Friday in a high-speed collision on westbound Interstate 4 in Lake Mary, troopers said.

About 2:50 a.m., a black Infiniti driven by David McKenna, 33, of Lake Mary "in excess of 100 mph" struck the back of a box truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

McKenna was killed. The Infiniti was completely crushed. Skid marks could be seen on I-4, and debris landed in the shoulder of the roadway, Fox 35's Keith Landry reported.

The box truck driver, Mark Reich, 50, of Lakeland, was transported to South Seminole Hospital in Longwood but is expected to be OK.

The westbound lanes of I-4 reopened at about 6:40 a.m.

The crash is under investigation.
