The first funerals will be held today for Noah Pozner and Jack Pinto, two 6-year-old boys killed in Friday's mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Police say the gunman, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, had two handguns and an assault rifle on him, as well as a shotgun in the car, and an arsenal of hundreds of rounds of ammunition – enough to kill just about every student in sandy hook elementary school.
Lanza killed 20 children, all ages 6 and 7, as well as six adults at the school.
He also killed his mother at their home before the school rampage.
President Barack Obama is back at the White House this morning after giving an emotional speech in memory of the victims.
At Sunday night's interfaith prayer vigil, the president offered "love and prayers" to the Newtown community.
He read each name of those innocent victims and said later, "Whatever measure of comfort we can provide, we will provide. Whatever portion of sadness that we can share with you to ease this heavy load, we will gladly bear it. Newtown, you are not alone."
He also said the nation will have to change in the wake of the mass shooting.
With the public memorial over, the focus now turns to the private funerals. There will be 26 of them in Newtown this week, as 26 families face the gut-wrenching heartbreak of saying goodbye, FOX 29'S Omari Fleming reported from Newtown on Monday morning.
