CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The U.S. Postal Service expects to process more than 655 million pieces of mail Monday, the busiest mailing day of the year. Mark Reynolds shared some shipping advice, Letters to Santa program.

Reynolds said that first thing mailers should check is that they have the correct name, specific address and zip code on their letters and packages. You'd be surprised how often these types of errors occur.

Old labels should be taken off shipments, so that all the post office needs to read is the USPS bar code, name and address.

The Letters to Santa program was established in 1912, making this year the 100th anniversary. Through Saturday, kids can send their Christmas wish letters to Santa through USPS.

The holiday tradition of putting those notes on display for all to read continues this year, to keep spirits bright.
