Southwest Airlines customers to pay fee for not flying

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Fliers who miss their Southwest Airlines flights will soon have to pay a fee for not canceling the ticket ahead of time.

Right now, Southwest lets passengers who don't use their ticket apply the price toward a new one.

Company officials say starting next year, that policy will change.

They say the move will help them reduce no-shows and generate more revenue.
