Cartersville police say they're investigating a murder that took place at a car wash on Sunday night.
Officers say they found 28-year-old Randal Statler lying next to a pick-up truck in the Sun-Glo Car Wash on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. He had been shot to death.
Police say Statler had apparently been mudding earlier in the day with family members, and he had come to the car wash to wash the mud off of his truck.
Investigators don't know if someone targeted the victim or if it was a random crime. They do believe the motive was robbery and urge residents to be careful.
"If you're going to be somewhere at night like that, be there with someone else. Don't go by yourself. We're not trying to second guess what he did…but in areas that are known as high crime areas, you really don't want to be there by yourself," said Capt. Mark Camp of the Cartersville Police Department.
This is the second murder in Cartersville in 2012.
Authorities said that they have no suspects in this case. Cartersville police ask anyone with information to call them.
