Video gaming expert warns of dangers in too much play

There are reports that Newtown gunman Adam Lanza spent a considerable amount of time playing video games. As the world tries to cope with the senseless deaths of innocent children and staff and Sandy Hook Elementary School, Good Day asked author Dr. Douglas Haddad to weigh in.
Violence in video games is different than say violence in movies. They take on the first person role of assailant. They embody that character. There are reward systems. You hear 'good shot' or 'move on to the next level.' Research has shown, all violence that takes place is rooted in shame. A lot of times that is released in violent video games. Research shows violent video gaming is directly related violence. Parents have to step in and control the amount of gaming," said Haddad.
