Police are looking for a man who attempted to abduct a girl outside a Cicero school Tuesday morning in the western suburb.
An "older" Hispanic man grabbed a fourth grade Columbus East Elementary School student about 8:30 a.m. as she walked near the school at 31st Street and 53rd Avenue, according to Riverside police who issued a release.
The man grabbed the girl from behind and lifted her off the ground, the release said. She screamed and eventually broke free.
The suspect was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, black gloves and brown work boots, the release said. He fled in a rusty, aqua four-door car with front end damage, black plastic over the driver's side passenger window and a noisy engine.
Police are investigating the murder of a homeless man who was beaten to death in an alley in Logan Square.
