ATLANTA -
An investigation is underway following an officer-involved shooting in Midtown late on Tuesday night.
According to Atlanta police, the incident happened during a party at 17th Street and West Peachtree Street. They say an off-duty officer working the event heard the shots and saw the gunman firing toward a group of people.
They say the officer confronted the gunman, and opened fire. The gunman ran to a vehicle and fled the scene.
Investigators say a man later turned up at Grady Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. It's unclear whether he was connected to the shooting.
