WILLIAMS, Ariz. (AP) - A highway patrol officer has been injured after being hit while directing traffic following an accident on Interstate 40 in northern Arizona.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the officer suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries about 10 a.m. Wednesday near Williams.
The officer reportedly suffered lacerations to his face and some broken bones and was transported to the Flagstaff Medical Center by helicopter.
His name hasn't been released.
DPS officials say the officer was attempted to slow down a semi-truck when the driver lost control and hit the officer's patrol car, knocking it into him.
