A police officer suffered a broken nose after a suspect freaked out in the back of a patrol car Sunday morning, according to authorities.
Angelo Bocchino, 33, was originally arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, but on his way to jail, Altamonte Springs Police say he went into a rage, most of which was caught on a police camera.
Bocchino began shouting, kicked an officer and refused to put his leg in the car, police said.
Officers used a stun gun on the suspect, but he continued to shout threats at authorities. The police camera captures the suspect trying to kick out the partition in the car.
"He kicked the officer in the face, but he still was resisting and he would not get inside the vehicle," said Officer Robert Pelton of Altamonte Springs Police. "He was Tased in the upper torso and at that point, he retracted his legs, allowing them to place him inside the vehicle.
"It's very unfortunate that the officer was injured, doing his job, trying to protect others," Pelton said.
The suspect has a lengthy criminal history and now faces two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer. Officers said the suspect admitted to being intoxicated.
The officer who suffered the broken nose was able to go back to work.
