As the National Rifle Association sees it, guns are the solution, not the problem when it comes to shootings like the one last week at Sandy Hook Elementary.
Locally, several districts, including Fulton, Cobb, Atlanta Public Schools, and DeKalb Schools, have armed resource officers in middle and high schools, but not in elementary schools. Several school officials told FOX 5's George Franco that those officers are typically within a 1.5 miles away from elementary schools.
