Orlando police arrested three more people this week in connection to a deadly September home invasion Ocoee.
Alex Zaldivar, 19, was killed the night before he intended on testifying against 28-year-old Bessman Okafor for a prior home invasion at the same home. Police believe Okafor orchestrated the plan for Zaldivar's death.
Investigators said two gunmen broke into the home late at night, pulled Zaldivar out of bed and shot him in the back of his head. The gunmen also shot 20-year-old Brienna Campos and her brother, 23-year-old Remington, in the head that night, but the two survived.
"We lost a great 19-year-old kid that would have done great things. He was killed because he was doing the right thing and his parents raised him the right way," detective Michael Moreschi said.
Nine people have been arrested in the case, including Okafor's mother and brother. This week, 24-year-old Donnell Godfrey and 26-year-old Emanuel Wallace were also arrested. The two are each charged with first degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and armed burglary. Okafor's sister Tekethia Ruffin was also arrested on Friday for providing false information to law enforcement during an investigation and an accessory after the fact.
Zaldivar's father Rafael said these arrests are just the beginning of the process to come.
"What they did to Alex is incomprehensible, to kill a young man like that. I want the same for them, the ones that deserve the death penalty, the ones that were there, the ones that participated. I want them all gone," he said.
