On Monday's Chat Room, consultant Rochelle Trotter and comedian Patti Vasquez dish on all things holiday!
Many people have reevaluated how they plan to spend this holiday season given all of the crises in this world from the Newton massacre to the economic hard times.
Patti stated she has finally figured out the four "points" for successful holiday shopping for kids: want it, need it, wear it, read it! Rochelle indicated spending more on the less fortunate and also focusing on more experiential gifts i.e. time with family vs. material items.
Next the ladies shared holiday favorite food traditions.
Patti always thinks of Christmas when she smells deep dish pizza, as that is the item she always had with her dad as a child. Rochelle loves kid crafted food items - such as elf hats made from strawberries and coconut.
Finally the ladies wished each other a happy season in various forms from Happy Holiday to Merry Christmas to Happy Kwanzaa!
Rochelle said she always uses Merry Christmas, as it reflects her Christian beliefs. Patti uses Happy Holidays in order to cover religious viewpoints that may differ from hers.
