PHILADELPHIA -

The snow that fell earlier Wednesday changed over to rain as a winter storm makes its way through our area.

FOX 29 Weather Authority is tracking the low pressure system, which brought a mix of wintry weather to the area and snow to the north and west.

In Delaware County, FOX 29's Chris O'Connell reported wet and slushy conditions on area roads during Wednesday night rush hour.

Earlier Wednesday, SkyFOX flew over the PennDOT lot in Hunting Park as crews filled up trucks to prepare for the storm.

PennDOT officials say 180 trucks were loaded and ready to go with a total of 139,000 pounds of salt. Crews were planning to focus on Chester and Montgomery counties.

The National Weather Service says between 1.5 to 2 inches of rain could fall across the area.

A flood watch goes into effect Wednesday night for several areas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, including Philadelphia, Burlington and Camden counties.

The National Weather Service has also issued winter weather and wind advisories.

Not the prettiest Friday, but we're ready for a great weekend. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. After an early high in the upper sixties, temperatures fall & winds pick up out of the chillier northwest. Right now the Memorial Day Weekend looks sunny and cool with highs in the low to mid 60s on Saturday, in the 70s Sunday & Monday. Cooler temps at the shore.

    Have fun!
