Bargain hunters head to stores for post-Christmas deals

ATLANTA -

The holiday shopping season isn't over yet, and retailers are expected to slash prices even further over the next few days.

Some people are taking advantage of another day off this holiday season to return those Christmas gifts they did not necessarily want or exchange clothes that perhaps didn't fit. Others are taking advantage post-Christmas bargains.

"We got lots of games and don't need anymore," said Charlita Walker.

Walker and her two children returned a Wii game center.

"We had quite the conversation about whether to return this. But they're happy with all the other stuff, so we're ok," said Walker.

Pam Epps wanted to get out extra early to snag some post-Christmas sales.

"We mostly came to get her an accessory for a Christmas gift, an iPod touch, but browsing to see what else is on sale," said Epps.

Experts say shoppers will find the best deals in electronics, seasonal items, and toys. Target store manager Lawrence Thomas says some toys have been reduced in price by 50 percent, and it's a great time to cash in on gift cards.

It wasn't crowded at the Edgewood Retail District where the Target store is located. Workers blame that on the weather. and expect it to pick up later in the afternoon.
