
Three people were killed and four others were injured after a crash in Gordon County on Tuesday.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened at 5:47 p.m. on Highway 53 near Mauldin. They say an eastbound 1996 Ford Bronco driven by 35-year-old Brent Lynch ran off the road, re-entered the roadway, and slammed head-on into a Kia heading west.
The driver of the Kia, 27-year-old April Winters, and two passengers were killed in the collision.
The GSP says Lynch and a passenger in the Bronco, as well as two other passengers in the Kia were taken to an area hospital for treatment. Their conditions are not known.
Police say charges are pending against Lynch.
