MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
A Chicago man has been charged with assault after allegedly shooting at a Minneapolis pizza delivery driver for delivering a pizza that was too small.
Demetrius Patterson, 26, is charged with one count of second-degree assault for the Dec. 21 incident. According to the criminal complaint, Patterson answered the door at his girlfriend's apartment on the 2100 block of Russell Ave. N. and began arguing with the 45-year-old driver.
The victim told police he didn't want to argue, so he walked toward his car. As the driver walked away with the pizza, Patterson stepped out of the house and fired five to six gunshots.
The deliveryman was able to drive-off and was not injured.
Police arrested Patterson, who was cooperative, and recovered a 9mm handgun from his girlfriend's apartment.
