SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. -
Interstate 75 in Spalding County was shut down for several hours after a tractor-trailer truck carrying paper caught fire early on Thursday.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the incident happened just past Highway 16 sometime after 3 a.m.
Traffic in the northbound lanes was being diverted at Highway 16 until crews could reopen the lanes. One lane remains closed as of 11:30 a.m. When SKYFOX5 flew over the scene late Thursday morning, traffic was backed up for miles.
It is not known what caused the truck to go up in flames. No injuries were reported.
