SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -

A tree came crashing down on a house in Sandy Springs early on Thursday morning.

The 90,000 pound tree fell on the roof of a home on Mystic Drive off Roswell Road at around 4 a.m. Authorities say the family was sleeping inside the house in the area where the tree came down. No one was seriously hurt.

"It was horrible. It was absolutely horrible, and it made a horrific sound, came down on us, our bed was completely pinned down by with debris. And giant branches that passed all the way through into the basement and broke pipes and the foundation," said homeowner Todd Ehrlich.

Ehrlich says they had several family members visiting them from Mississippi when the tree fell.

Captain Scott McColl of the Sandy Springs Fire Department says it appears that the strong winds blew the tree down.
