Josh Watson was shot and killed in a parking lot near Lakewood Amphitheater as he was walking home from a MARTA bus stop after working late at his job at the airport.
On Thursday, friends and family of Watson held a candlelight vigil at the site where Watson was killed.
"The night that they told me, I just cried and I can't cry anymore. My heart is hurting," said Eziequel Watson, Josh's brother.
Atlanta police were at the vigil hanging out flyers and looking for leads in the apparent robbery.
Family members said Watson was a young artist who was active in his church.
"He always kept me out of trouble. He always tried to steer me, tried to show me the right ways of God," said Gary James Jr. a friend of Josh.
"I'm so proud of him, to be the young man he was, to touch so many in just such a short time in his life," said Geannie Watson, Josh's mother.
Alicia Ivey of Goldberg Concessions and other airport concessions owners have pooled resources to provide financial support for the Watson family.
"We're here for you and we will always be here for you because he was one of our own," said Ivey.
The Watson family's biggest need right now is for the killer to be caught.
"Whoever it is, it will just eat at their heart, eat at their mind. They can't sleep, they can't go anywhere until he just comes and confesses that he did this," said Josh's sister, Armina Watson.
Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call CrimeStoppers at (404) 577-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous.
