ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A convenience store clerk avoided a robbery early Friday by convincing a would-be armed robber he didn't work there, then slipping out, an Orlando Police report states.
According to the report, a suspect armed with a small handgun walked into the 7-Eleven at 4701 S. Semoran Blvd. at about 3:50 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk.
The suspect reportedly was wearing a black mask, black gloves, a multi-colored hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes.
The clerk convinced the suspect he didn't work there, buying himself time to walk to the cooler and alert a coworker.
When the clerk didn't return for an extended period of time, the suspect ran away, the report said.
