Fire officials are investigating a fire that claimed the life of one and sent another to the hospital Friday evening.
The incident was reported at 9:19p.m. Friday night when fire crews arrived on scene to an occupied dwelling that was ablaze on the 2000 block of East Madison Street.
Crews rescued an elderly woman found on the second floor. She was transported to Temple University Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Her son was also found on the second floor but was deceased.
Fire marshals are currently investigating a cause to the fire at this time.
There were working fire alarms inside the residence at the time of the fire.
