BROOKSVILLE (FOX 13) -

Brooksville Police arrested a 49-year-old man Saturday after he pretended to be his brother during a traffic stop earlier this month.

Carl Hall was booked into the Hernando County Jail where he is being held on a bond of $4,500. He is facing several charges including providing false information to a law enforcement officer.

According to a Brooksville Police Department report Hall was stopped for speeding on December 7th. When the officer made contact with the driver Hall gave his brother's information and signed his brother's name on the citation.

When Hall's sibling discovered what he had done he contacted BPD. The suspect was convinced by family members to turn himself in and when he did he confessed to the crime.

In addition to the false information charge Hall is facing one count of counterfeiting a public record and one count of operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license.
