With warming temperatures in Tampa, it was the perfect time for a snowstorm.
That's exactly what the Tampa Bay Times Forum got on New Year's Day when the Ringling Brothers hosted an event for kids from the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA.
There was eight tons of snow for children to play in, as well as a big bonus: While digging through the snow, the three kids who found a golden clown nose got $100 each and tickets to see the "greatest show on earth."
"Well, being from Florida, you don't get to see snow that often so thanks to your friends here in the community, and also here at the Forum, we're able to bring a little bit of circus magic and have the snowfall," said Melinda Hartline.
They said they were simple "Ring-ling" in the New Year. The circus is in town Wednesday night through Sunday, and tickets are still available on Ticketmaster.
