APOPKA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the New Year's Day stabbing of an Apopka man driving "recklessly," police said.
Lorenzo Sanchez-Bellot is facing aggravated assault charges stemming from an altercation Tuesday with Armando Angel Cantero-Chavez, 28, authorities said.
Police responded to the Chalet Mobile Home Complex off Geneva Way after receiving reports of a person driving recklessly through the neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found Cantero-Chavez on the front porch of a residence, suffering from stab wounds.
Witnesses told police that Cantero-Chavez had been driving recklessly near Timberline Road. Police say Sanchez-Bellot confronted Cantero-Chavez at his home about the reckless driving, and during the altercation, Cantero-Chavez punched Sanchez-Bellot in the chest.
Sanchez-Bellot then stabbed Cantero-Chavez in the chest, police say.
Cantero-Chavez was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and is listed in stable but guarded condition.
