What would you buy with $1 million in lottery winnings? For one Georgia woman, the answer to that question includes a horse, a donkey and chickens.
Lilburn resident Penelope Henritze, 68, won $1 million playing Georgia Millions in the Georgia Lottery. Now, she says she's planning to start her very own farm.
"This has been a dream to have a farm," Henritze said.
Henritze collected her oversized check on Thursday at a Texaco station in Tucker, where she purchased the winning ticket. She says she bought it on her way home.
She says she played the lottery several times before and had won small
prizes of $20 to $50. She said she was drawn to the ticket by its color.
Henritze is a mother to five adult children, and she has 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a fifth great-grandchild on the way.
"This really is a dream that has become possible," she said. "It's wonderful!"
She said that her only hope now is that she doesn't fall off of a horse.
