AAA Mid-Atlantic: NJ gas prices rising

Posted: Updated:

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are seeing higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $3.36, up 3 cents from last week. That's also higher than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.21.

Meanwhile, the national average price rose by 2 cents to $3.30. That's just a penny more than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.29.

Analysts say it's possible prices could rise following the recent resolution of the so-called "fiscal cliff." But even if that happens, prices would likely soon retreat due to weak demand and increased domestic crude oil production
