KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Investigators are back at a Kissimmee day-care center this morning, just 48 hours after a shooting that injured a mother and her 9-year-old son Saturday.
"We're trying to determine if this was a random act or whether they were targeted," said Stacie Miller of Kissimmee Police.
Police say that a 32-year-old woman and her son were inside a car Saturday morning outside Tiny Tots Child Care Center on Smith Street, waiting for the business to open when bullets flew in the car and hit them in the legs.
"Right now, we're trying to get some surveillance video, if there is any," Miller said. Witnesses told police that a dark-colored vehicle was seen leaving the area at the time the shots were fired.
The victims, whose names have not been released, were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
