COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Officials say a 16-year-old wrestler at Carver High School in Columbus died during practice and classes have been suspended until Thursday.
Authorities say the unidentified teen collapsed while he was jogging during practice Monday morning and was later pronounced dead.
Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley told the newspaper the athlete went into cardiac arrest after he collapsed and he is unaware of any medical issues the teen may have had.
The teen's body was sent to Atlanta for an autopsy and authorities expect additional details to become available Tuesday.
