CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
A Palos Heights man has quite a story to tell after a bank robber tried to break into his home.
Kenneth Conley escaped from the Metropolitan Correctional Center downtown, along with another inmate on Dec. 18. They used a rope made of bed sheets to climb over 15 stories down the side of the building.
A massive manhunt ensued. The other inmate, Joseph "Jose" Banks was caught a few days later.
Conley remained on the loose until last Friday, when he was finally captured. He allegedly tried to break into a home in Palos Heights, where the owner and his four children were playing.
Homeowner Dan Kotula hit Conley - punched him in the face - forcing him out the door and into the hands of the police.
Kotula and his family joined Good Day Chicago Tuesday morning to recount the incident.
