A souped-up and prized 1994 Toyota Supra owned by a local television host, model and actress stolen last week was found gutted and dumped in an empty Orange County lot, the owner says.
Jessica Barton has accomplished a lot in her life: model, TV host on national cable networks and actress in a Hollywood horror flick. But the thing that gained her the most fame and fans is her car.
About eight years ago, Barton bought the Toyota Supra. Since then, she estimates she's put more than $150,000 into the car.
All that money helped turn the car into a 1500-horsepower, drag-racing beast. It is one of the most powerful and fastest cars of its kind in the country.
Barton loved that car. She raced it and displayed it at shows around the nation -- until last week.
Someone stole Barton's Supra from her Waterford Lakes house. Two days later, someone found what's left of the car chopped up and dumped in an empty Orange County lot.
The high-performance engine, and all of the parts made especially for it, are gone. There is a $10,000 reward in the case.
Anyone that has any information that helps recover the parts or leads to an arrest is eligible. If anyone knows anything, they should call the Orange County Sheriff's Office or send their tip to Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
