ATLANTA (AP) - Hewlett-Packard has announced plans to consolidate customer support call center operations and create 200 new jobs in metro Atlanta.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/XK8VHg) a spokesman for the California-based company announced Tuesday that it will combine its call center operations from around the world and relocate its Customer Solution Center to Alpharetta. The newspaper reports jobs at a facility in New Mexico will likely be transferred to the Alpharetta location as well.
The move comes as part of a Hewlett-Packard restructuring effort that includes cutting about 27,000 jobs from its workforce.
Company officials have not disclosed a location in Alpharetta or details on annual or hourly pay for the jobs. The transition is expected to occur through October.
