MESA, Ariz. -

A Mesa gun show was so packed that the fire marshal showed up -- and the show comes after Vice President Joe Biden held gun control meetings this week.

People who've gone to these gun shows before say they've never seen it as packed as it was on Saturday.

People came in droves, whether it was to buy a gun or support the 2nd Amendment.

There was a line to get into the Crossroads of the West gun show and it snaked around the Mesa Convention center Saturday morning.

"I come to this show every time they hold it, never seen a crowd like this," said Mark Williams.

The gun show organizer says there were so many people, the fire marshall briefly closed the show.

"They've shut us down for a few minutes to get a fire capacity and make sure we can flow people through the aisles in case the concrete burns," said Jeff Templeton.

Inside, many were seeing dollar signs.

"It's amazing..the prices have doubled," said Rudy Dragone.

The show organizer says prices for assault weapons are up and he's seeing a run on ammunition.

"People that might buy 100 to 200 rounds are buying 1,000 rounds now because they don't know when or if how much they're going to cost," said Templeton.

Dragone got a good deal on a used Taurus Judge and saw others snatching up guns.

"I think everybody is scared that Obama is going to take our right away from being able to carry and have guns and I think everyone is trying real hard to get as many as they can before anything happens," he said.

Mark Williams adds, "Some people are coming because they want to buy ammunition or possibly a gun but mostly they're simply here to support the 2nd Amendment..many people here have no intention of buying anything."

No matter what happens with potential gun legislation, Templeton says the gun show will go on.

"We'll be doing gun shows no matter how the laws might change.  We know how to work with the dealers and the public and comply with those laws."

Biden is expected to issue recommendations to the President on Tuesday.
