An armed suspect was arrested after robbing a bank Tuesday morning in northwest suburban Elgin.
The suspect entered the Old Second National Bank branch at U.S. 20 and Nesler Road about 9:15 a.m., Elgin police Cmdr. Glenn Theriault said. He displayed a weapon and left with an undetermined amount of cash.
Four employees were inside the bank during the robbery and no was injured, Theriault said.
The suspect drove east in a white Toyota Camry on U.S. 20, and about five minutes later, police noticed the vehicle matched the description of that used in the robbery, Theriault said.
The suspect was arrested without incident about 15 minutes after the robbery and about 5 miles from the bank at U.S. 20 and Lambert Lane, Theriault said.
