LeDuff: D is for dumb, as in check out this dumb criminal

LeDuff Video Report

Here's the story.  Butch Kassab, the owner of the Tigris Restaurant on 7 Mile Rd. in Detroit closes up shop and heads out with $270 in his pocket around 3:30 in the morning on January 4th.

Someone he knows, 20-year-old Kelvone Cockrell, points a gun and demands that he hand over the money.

Some irony: Butch says he has been helping Cockrell, giving him money for food and diapers, even feeding him sandwiches throughout the week.

Cockrell fires a shot in the ground and Butch hands him the money.

Meanwhile Butch's cousin is watching this scene unfold from his car.  So what does he do? He rams his car into Cockrell.

Cockrell gets up, tries to limp away but realizing he is going no where fast, he fires a shot at Butch's cousin, then gets in Butch's car and drives away.

Police catch up with Cockrell in an apartment building, laying in bed with the cash stuffed in his underwear.

Play the video to see the surveillance video and to hear LeDuff tell the story.  It's much better the way he tells it.  Play it to the end as Charlie explains the simple moral of this story.
